Quick start

Get started with a preset breathing exercise

Display preset exercises

Press the "Select Exercise" button to display a list of preset exercises. In case you want to read detailed information on available exercises and categories before making your selection, press the "Exercises" tab on the bottom of the screen.

Select your exercise

Select the exercise that suits your current needs and training aims. In case you need more information before making a choice, close the window. This brings you back to the main exercise screen. On the bottom of the screen, press the "Exercises" tab and read up on the various exercise categories.

Confirm exercise settings

Selecting an exercise opens a window with details on the exercise presets. You can change the presets as desired for the current session. When you are happy with the exercise settings, press "Confirm" and you are ready to start the exercise.

General information about the Sinira App

The name "Sinira"

The app's name Sinira is inspired by the latin phrase "sine ira et studio", which broadly translates into "without excessive ambition and emotion". It invites you to adopt a mindset that is free from strong ambition or force when practicing.

Limitations of this App

Breathing exercises are a powerful tool to calm your mind and to achieve a better state of health. However, they are no replacement for therapy nor does the information in this app provide medical advice. It is your responsibility to consult with medical personnel on what exercises suit your condition. Several sources state that exercises on breath holding (see section on Lung Capacity) are not suitable for persons with high blood pressure or during pregnancy.

Privacy

The developer does not collect any information from this app. The data collected by this app is stored locally on your device. You can choose to share information on your breathing execises with Apple Health. No information is shared with any other third parties.
